Västerås, Sweden
Welcome to the 2026 Ice and Snow Sailing World Championships
This is where wind, ice, and passion meet. And where sailors organise for sailors. The World Ice and Snow Sailing Association (WISSA) and the International Kiteboarding Association (IKA) proudly join forces again to bring the world’s fastest ice and snow sailors together for the 2026 World Championships in Västerås, Sweden.
This historic cooperation unites the three main classes of our sport — Kite, Wing, and Sled (or Surf???) — under one shared event. Riders from all over the world will meet on the frozen waters of Lake Mälaren, transforming the bay of Västerås into a vibrant arena of wind-powered speed, skill, and camaraderie.
